Hastings
Residence

The transformation of this existing 2,650 SF colonial home began with the addition of a 750 SF master suite, and continued with a private master bedroom deck and a Craftsman Style inspired exterior facelift. The entire exterior of the house was re-cladded with alternating lap and shingle fiber-cement siding with oversized bands of composite trim and decorative bracketing. Large tapered wood columns, oversized newel posts, and balusters were added to the new bluestone covered porch and stairway that extends from the front door down to the driveway. A decorative wood trellis adorns the new thin veneer stacked stone façade, replacing the old brick and concrete foundation. The 1,100 sf interior renovation involved reconfiguring the first-floor powder room and relocating the laundry room to open the expanded kitchen up onto the adjacent family room. A large stone countertop combination island and family eating table occupies the center of the kitchen surrounded by new perimeter cabinetry, backsplash tiles, and appliances.
