The challenge of the project was to upgrade, unify and modernize the bones of the house while taking full advantage of the potential of the surrounding property. While the overall footprint of the existing house remained unchanged, the internal layout was reconfigured to allow for longer views through the house. Exterior walls were replaced with sliding doors to allow for greater views to the interior atrium courtyard and lush backyard. Inside, dark wood paneling and ceiling beams were replaced by a brighter and lighter interior palette featuring natural woods, metals and fabrics to create an atmosphere of relaxed and comfortable elegance.
